Day 116 Blast Off Blog Countdown- Big Love

CWE3225Hello again.  It is day  116 of my  dream come true blog countdown for my Blast Off Book launch on January 19th.. In my last entry, I told you the sad story of closing the door on my then book deal. Little did I know what  was in store for me down the road. A crystal ball would have saved me so much grief!  Now don’t feel sorry for me. I failed to mention another  aspect of my life that was igniting (in a good way), at the same time that my dream of being a published  author was drifting away like a dense  fog. You see, like most sentimental poets , I wanted to be in love. And I don’t mean a crush or a pleasant  connection, I wanted the BIG LOVE. Firecrackers, LaLALA (Okay. You get the picture.)  The kind you see in the romance movie as you sit there feeling completely depressed because what they have seems so far from your reality. It wasn’t as if I hadn’t tried! Oh, I had tried. I was your serial monogamist with a flare for frogs. I am really not being mean. They were all really cute in a toadish kind of way. I am sure they thought I was just as amphibiously inclined. Anyway, back to the Big LOVE.  I had been successful in my career, I was a good mom, but there was still that emptiness lingering inside.  And if one more person told me that I needed to learn to enjoy being by myself, I was going to scream. Why did I have to love to live alone? I like being with people. This is the way human nature set us up. Look at mammals. They travel in packs. Fish in schools, birds in flocks….

120 Days Until Launch Time!

photos-79

Thanks for joining me for my countdown. Only 120 days left as I share my personal journey to making my biggest dream come true. Somehow when I was younger, 120 days would seem like an eternity. Now it seems like just a few blinks and January 19th will be here.

The whole concept of time boggles my mind. There never seems to be enough of it and yet, when I am working out with my trainer, Marcus, every seconds feels like a decade! (He was extra brutal today.)

How I came to writing my book had many twists and turns. All roads have led to a wonderful place, but in a few of instances, the path was windier and bumpier than I had anticipated. I am sure you have had that experience. You are gritting your teeth with disappointment one moment and then months later you look back and think, “Oh, yeah. Now I get it. Thank God that didn’t work out. This is so much better!” This is the life stuff you just can’t make up and you cannot plan. There always seems to be a better, bigger plan, but you just can’t see it at the time. Read more »

121 Day Countdown til my Jan19th Blast Off Book Launch

BlastOffCover.jpgIf any of you have ever attempted to write a book, or have published a book of your own, then you will relate to the story of my writing and publishing while living the rest of my life journey that I am about to share with you.

If you have ever dreamed of writing a book, I hope my upcoming posts over the next 121 days will inspire you to keep writing, one page at a time. And if you have no desire to write a book, but you have a dream (or would like to figure out what that dream is) then follow me for the next 121 days as I count down toward the day of my book launch of Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality on January 19, 2010 on Amazon and a major bookstore nearest you.

You see… this is not just about a book launch. Seeing my book in print, inspiring others with my words, stories and strategies, and picking up my very own book off of a book store shelf is literally a dream come true for me. I am so excited to share my process, thoughts, frustrations and elations with you in my Blast Off Countdown Blog. This is the what, when, how I did and do it, how I fit it into the rest of my life as a mom, a wife, and a business woman and still manage to have lots of fun.

So it started something like this….

I have had a passion for writing since I was in the 4th grade when I wrote my first poem in Ms. Grant’s class at Grissom Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

There once was an alligator named Sam.

He lived in a clogged up damn.

He ate peoples noses, and bit off their toses.

And that was my alligator Sam.

Brilliant, I know. I was quite proud of this poem and thought, “there is something to this writing thing.” Words became a playground of expression for me. I discovered that I possessed a rather deep soul (Deeper than I could deal with at age 9, or anyone around me for that matter)  and  I needed an outlet to release and sort out all this romanticism and intensity. Writing was a way for me to configure my deepest thoughts, spout about my observations, experiences, solutions,  then tie them all together with a poetic and rythmic bow. It has been a special relationship… me and my pen. (and eventually my Mac)  I always found it easier to say what I really wanted to say… in writing.

Writing Blast Off has been a culmination of years writing, working with thousands of clients to move them to a better chapter in their lives, and a strong desire to help others reach their potential. In fact, it became a real pet peeve of mine when someone would come to see me for coaching or homeopathy and they would proceed to give me every excuse as to why their dreams, or life, for that matter, would never work out the way they wanted. I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to shake them and say, “You are amazing. Don’t you see?!”

Over the years, through many trials and tribulations,  I finally learned how to make my dreams come true. (This book is my biggest) And believe me, they were not handed to me. At age 30 I set out on the world as a single mom, no money and no emotional support. However, I did have three things going for me: Determination, stubborness, and hope. Always hope.

So please join me over the next 3 1/2 months as I share the process of making one of my biggest dreams come true as I countdown the release of Blast Off on January 19th. My intention is to make you laugh, cry and get off your butt and make it happen. Lets do it together.

My very best,

Allison Maslan

What Is The Next Chapter Of Your LIfe?

What is the next chapter in your life going to read like? If you could write it however you wanted to, what would it say?  If you think of your life in this way, you can position yourself as the author of your world. It is your choice.  Be deliberate and choose the direction, the vision the life you want to live. Then, take action right now. Three small steps per day, I call them Mini Feats, toward your new chapter. If your fear arises as you walk forward, acknowledge it, but keep walking through it anyway. The fear will begin to dissolve the more steps you take in this new direction. Don’t wait for the right time. That will never come unless you proclaim it to be and own it. And I cannot wait to read your next chapter. Please send me a copy!

By the way, if you enjoy my inspirations and strategies, please take notice of my pre-launch for my upcoming January 19th, 2010 book release of Blast Off! Does your business have soul?

2639290631_13934511de_t

What does it mean to have a business with soul? Does it mean it has a good beat, its spiritually  based, or a sturdy pair of shoes?  No, not really. The soul, I believe, is the essence of who we are. Our soul is like our life signature, our energy imprint. So what does it mean to have a business with soul? It means to create a business that comes from the core of who you are. When your business is the external expression of your voice and your passion, it truly resonates with your soul. This also means that whatever your business represents, highlights, sells, and creates should fit who you are as an individual and your personal mission. When your business has soul by combining passion and meaning, it is more likely to result in success and longevity. When your business comes from your heart and soul, it has more chance to thrive during the highs and the lows that any entrepreneur might face.  Blast Off Coaching  has soul. Homeopathic Wellness has soul. I am passionate about them both. They both have deep meaning to me. When you spend time on efforts that really matter to you, it’s much more probable that you’ll make the commitment that’s necessary to build a lasting entity. This love of your work is the glue that will keep you cherishing your wins and picking yourself up after your losses as you progress on your path toward success. Building a business that has soul is also a great deal more fun than one that is only about the money. Launch a business with soul, stick with it and the business and you cannot help but thrive. Learn more about creating a soul business from the release of my upcoming book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality on January 19th 2010.
