One of the biggest roadblocks in creating a soul-matched relationship is that we tend to bring our pain and baggage from past relationships into our present ones, and even into our search for the right one. If you have been hurt in the past, it is understandable that you may have developed issues with trust and confidence in your subsequent partners. The fact is that no partner is the same. Even though you may be holding onto past traumas or disappointments, this does not mean that every partner to follow will behave in this same way.

There is a tendency to project, or put onto other people, the fear, grief or resentment of our past. When in reality, this person does not represent those things at all. However, because you may believe this to be true because of your history, your fear and behavior around this issue may bring the worst out of someone you love.

The result is what we call a self-fulfilling prophecy, in that we end up bringing upon ourselves what we fear most. For instance, if you have fear of abandonment and you hang onto someone too tightly because you are afraid they will leave, they may end up leaving because they feel smothered by you. Another example would be that because you are afraid your love will leave you, you may subconsciously choose people that have commitment issues, just to prove to yourself that, yes, they will abandon you. Sounds crazy, right? Well it happens all the time.

When we start a relationship with clean slate, it will have a much higher chance of flourishing with much less grief and discord.

Here are a few exercises to help you let go and move forward from a clear, strong and healthy place.

Blast Off Practice #1 Write Off The Past

Please write out the emotions and traumas that you have experienced in past relationships that you do not want to bring into your new or current relationship.

By looking at these issues in writing, it helps to separate them from your current situations and relationships. In this way it is easier to become an observer rather than wearing the traumas on your sleeves in your new relationships.

When we can see our partner with 20/20 vision rather than looking through clouded lenses from the past, we will feel much freer to be the best partner possible. The result, we also draw in and receive the same positive, loving energy in return.

Blast Off Practice #2 Open Your Heart To Love

This Open Heart Meditation exercise is in my new best selling book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality. In this exercise, you will focus, visualize and feel your heart open to receive love, and at the same time let go of the past hurts and disappointments.

Get into a quiet space. Sit down and then take some deep breaths until you are feeling calm and relaxed. If soft music and candles help you get into the mood, add these to your environment.

Now when you inhale, visualize a golden light coming into your body from the crown of your head and see it flowing all the way down to your toes. Feel it as the warmth and the sparkling light nurtures all the organs and systems of your body.

After a few minutes, focus on your heart area. Now put your right hand over your heart and continue to inhale and exhale this golden light. Then as you inhale, only focus on your heart area and visualize a soft, pink, loving energy coming into your heart. Feel your heart opening fully and allowing this pink energy to fill it completely and fully with love.

If you have had pain in your heart due to loss or heartbreak, visualize the tears of your heart pouring out as the pain begins to release and subside. Fill any emotional wounds with this pink loving energy. See your wound healing as your heart is surrounded with love. Continue to inhale and exhale deeply.

After another minute or two, visualize the pink energy turning into red, passionate, vibrant energy that is continuing to fill up your ever- expanding, open heart. Now feel that love and passion spread from your heart to the rest of your body, up to your head and down through your torso and legs, and through to the bottom of your toes. Feel how wonderful, light, free and uplifting this love energy feels. Continue to experience the opening of your heart.

Now I want you to expand this loving energy inside your heart and the rest of your body out to the world and to the Universe. See it expanding for miles and miles. Oh, how lucky the world is to experience your love! Now feel the love coming right back into your heart and hold it there. Your heart is now open and ready to receive love.

Repeat this exercise at least twice a week to continue healing and opening your heart so that you may receive all the love you deserve.

It is not that you won’t remember any of these old hurts, you are just choosing not to give them continual power over you and your present and future opportunities for great love.

Now that you have been releasing the past and anything that can get in the way of creating a new and deeper relationship, it is time to get really clear on what you actually do want in your relationships.

What a fun city. Fireworks over Lake Michigan, great shopping, bustling

downtown, and did I say great shopping? Oh, by the way, Oprah said to

tell you all, “Hello!” Well, I know she would have said hello if I had met

her…LOL. However, I was too busy doing an interview on Fox News

discussing the 5 Steps To Turning Your Dreams Into Reality….Enjoy!

Click Here to watch my Fox Chicago Interview

Since I was only able to get out my first two points,

(you’ve got to talk fast on TV),

here are some more beneficial tips to bringing your

dream business or passion into

your life right now.

1) Get Clarity on Your Goals and Dreams:

If time, capability or money were no issue, what would you choose

to do for a career? What activities or hobbies would you want to experience?

Once you remove the limits from your mind, it is easier to allow your

imagination to flow. Make a list of your ideas. As you do this, be aware of

all the “should’s, cant’s and what if’s” that are floating around in your head.

Just think of what you could accomplish if these damaging thoughts took a

permanent vacation. Even if you already have a successful career or business,

there may be some new, prosperous and exciting avenues you have not explored yet.

2) Uncover Your Roadblocks and Face Them:

Can you relate to any of these thoughts? What if I fail?

What will people think of me? What value do I have to offer?

Its these kinds of negative beliefs that hold people back from living a

full and thriving life. These illusions will keep you trapped in an

unhappy career or relationship and hold you back from living the life

you are truly meant to live. I challenge you to choose one of your

limiting beliefs and make a commitment to confront it within the next 2

weeks. If you are unhappy in your work, start exploring other options.

If you arefeeling like you need more challenge, stimulation or fun, begin

to reach out and make new friends that are positive and inspiring.

Check out www.MeetUp.com for new activities and connections in your

area.Once you begin to take those first few steps, your fear will begin to

dissolve.

3) Create Your Blast Off Success Plan:

In my book, Blast Off!, I teach you how to create a Big Picture Vision

of your dreams and goals. As I mentioned in my interview, this helps

you feel more directed. Once you feel more directed and on purpose,

it is amazing how much better you will feel mentally and emotionally.

Then once you have a clear picture of where you are headed, break

this down into 3 Mini Feats a day, small bite size steps toward your bigger

dreams and goals. Lets say you want to run a marathon and you

have never trained for one before. The last thing you want to do is

start out running several miles. You will burn out, lose interest and probably

not be able to walk for a week. Instead you might start with one mile and

build up from there. As you increase your endurance over time, the

expansion of your steps gets easier and easier.

4) Ask for Guidance and Direction from a Coach or Mentor:

As I mentioned in a recent newsletter, one of the biggest secrets

of my success is that I have always reached out for support when

I have needed it. In fact, recent studies show that most successful

people have had a coach or mentor in their life. How do you think

they learned to do what they are doing? They learn by receiving support

and guidance from someone else who has. In fact, up to 40% of Fortune 500

Companies are using coaches, and a recent study showed that the average

return on investment is 529%. So by trying to figure it out by yourself,

you are actually losing potential profits and adding a lot more time and

energy into your learning curve.

5) Take Action!

This is probably the most important point of all, because honestly,

it is all fantasy until you stop dreaming or talking about it, and begin

setting your ideas into motion. It does not have to be perfect. Good is

good enough. If you are waiting until all your I’s are dotted and T’s are

crossed, you may never get out of first gear. And if you don’t take action

now, you may still be having this same conversation with yourself in

6 months or 6 years. There is a big beautiful life staring at you

right in the face. What are you waiting for?

This upcoming fun-filled weekend is a perfect time to start.

To Your Joy and Success,

As a little boy, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. No dreams of being a doctor, lawyer, policeman—no particular desire to do anything. My uncertainty about a career direction becomes totally obvious if you look at the list of jobs I later racked up between the ages of twenty and forty: welding shop clerk, advertising agency junior account executive, assistant marketing manager of a retail sporting goods chain, pizza delivery driver (not as bad as you’d think), TV studio production assistant (worse than you’d think), frozen yogurt franchisee, real estate agent, cookware store assistant manager, biotech company director of operations, television travel show host, and biotech facilities consultant. And the list doesn’t even include the three hours I spent as a telemarketer—I couldn’t even make it to lunchtime.

With all these job changes, it came as no surprise to anyone that I was once again trying my hand at something new—this time, hosting a cooking show. Was I a great cook? No. In fact, I’d not really done much cooking at all. Did I have years of television experience? No. Was I related to a well-placed television executive who could land me a job? No. Honestly, I didn’t have much. But what I did have would ultimately become much more powerful than anything else I could put on a resume. First, I was really ready to make a career change. I needed to change so badly that I would have done almost anything. Turns out desire is a ridiculously strong motivator. And second, I had Allison Maslan. Allison had coached me a couple years before about making changes in my work life, but I wasn’t ready back then. It’s the old, “you-can-lead-a-horse-to-water” concept with me as the horse. Now, finally, I was ready to drink.

Starting any business is difficult and certainly full of its own challenges, but my brand new TV career brought one additional challenge that I hadn’t anticipated. This challenge was that pretty much everyone I knew thought that I was making a mistake—and a big one at that. I had expected a certain amount of skepticism—I mean I was trying to go from the biotech industry to becoming the host of a TV cooking show! And then there was that pesky little thing about having virtually no experience. For friends and family to question me would have been okay—but everyone thought I was insane. And if they didn’t say this directly to me, they said it to someone I knew. The whole, “You’re-a-fool” thing came to a head the day my two oldest brothers called to ask, “What will happen when it doesn’t work?” Not “if,” but “when!” What? Where was the support? Where were the cautious yet brotherly love, advice and counsel? After this phone conversation with my brothers, I pulled over to the side of the road and called Allison. I’ve never been in AA, but I imagined that this was what calling your sponsor would be like. I really wanted—no, make that really needed—to talk to her.

From the beginning, Allison’s coaching was always about me finding me. And somehow she recognized a more creative Sam inside. Through her questions and our conversations, Allison started nudging me towards something that she knew I needed and would be good at. And an interest- ing thing happened. You know how there are bazillions of car ads every day on TV and you barely notice them? But the day you wake up and say, “Today I need to buy a car,” that’s when you start noticing? Well, finally one day I woke up and knew that it was time to make a change. And this was when everything that Allison had coached me about finally started to take root.

But on that day of my brothers’ phone call, while I sat in my car at the side of the road, Allison’s advice took on a whole new form. Her gentle probing and casual conversation, as in our past coaching sessions, was now gone, and like a coach preparing an athlete for a huge race, Allison took charge. Her advice was simple, straightforward and, well, kind of tough. She said, “They’re feeding you negative energy. Just stop talking about it, Sam. Your career changes are triggering their own fears. They can’t be supportive of you taking a risk; it’s too scary for them. Tune them out. Get back in touch with your inner focus and just do it.”

Right from the start, Allison told me to keep my new passion to myself. She said, “People will tell you that you’re not being realistic. They’ll say you’re a dreamer. There will always be people who will think you’ll fail and they’ll tell you that. And then there are those who act somewhat supportive, but also ask the questions that will make you question every- thing you’re working toward.” In my case, that second kind of feedback went something like this, “That’s so great that you’re going into television. How exciting! But isn’t it really complicated? And doesn’t everyone want to be in TV? And how do you even know where to start?” Five minutes with someone like that and you’ll question everything you’re doing. You’ll start thinking: “They’re right. It is complicated, everyone does want to be in this business, and I don’t know where to start.”

“But it’s not about them,” Allison counseled, “it’s about you.” She paused, then added, “Quit talking about it and quit asking people what they think, because it doesn’t matter. None of that will help you, but more likely it will throw you off track. Just put your head down and keep moving forward toward your dream. Do your work, exactly as you know it needs to be done, and you’ll find success.”

So I did. I just shut up and did my thing. I created a demo tape and sent it out. I became my own cheerleader, because I knew no one would do it as well as me. When I found rejection—I moved around it. I made positive steps towards what I wanted every day. And I ended up on TV. And then on more TV. And then I won a bunch of Emmys. And then ended up with a national TV show. And then the first book deal came through. And so on. All this because I found myself and what I was meant to do. I’m now happy in a way I couldn’t have imagined.

What’s special about Allison is that she saw something in me right from the very beginning. In fact, with her keen awareness, she was able to see what I couldn’t. This reminds me of a study I read about that involved two groups of people. Group A considered themselves lucky, and Group B didn’t. The study organizers had both groups walk a specific route, where $5 bills had been hidden in exactly the same places for each group. The “lucky” group found more of the $5 bills than the unlucky group. But not because they were lucky—they simply were more “aware” of their surroundings.

In her best selling book, Blast Off, Allison details her own journey, and then clearly explains what it takes for you to find your life of passion and success. Reading it will be like sitting and talking with her. Like me, you’ll need to ask yourself if you’re really ready for a change. Because if you’re not, you won’t find the answers here or anywhere else. At the same time, different readers will be looking for different kinds of changes. For me, it was a search for happiness in a career.

Some of us find our way the minute we start looking for a change, and some of us need a little help getting our direction.
I have so many tips that I am excited share with you in My Secrets to Success Series. The toughest decision is what to share next! I just returned from a three-day long weekend getaway with my husband and my creative juices are over flowing. Which leads me this very important newsflash:

Tip # 2: If You Want To Be Successful In Business (and relationships and parenthood for that matter) TAKE LOTS OF VACATIONS!

Yes, taking time away from work and daily responsibilities is one of the best things you can do for your business, your health, your sanity and your creativity. Coming from a self-proclaimed life-a-holic that loves her work, her marriage, her family and her fun (not necessarily in that order), I have found that the more time I take away from the office, the more inventive, inspired and jazzed about my work I become.

I know the feeling. Work is piling up on my desk, there are phone calls to return, e-mails to respond to, Facebook posts to make. I love it all and feel very blessed to live my calling and work with the most fabulous clients on the planet. However, there comes a time every few months (or even weeks) where my brain hits overload status. And I mean overload. Thoughts, queries and requests are flying in the direction of my brain looking for an intelligible and high-alert, problem-solving response. Then, all the sudden, I realize I have absolutely no brain cells left to fire back to the inquirer. I used to wait until I hit this proverbial wall to realize I was beyond my deadline for a vacation. Not anymore.

Now I plan ahead and I use my time away as a life and business booster. Why? Because I have found that my most brilliant business ideas have been born while I was on vacation. Here are some examples:

My light bulb moment for my life planning and goal setting software, Blastation, came to me while vacationing in Laguna Beach, CA.

Solutions to my most complicated homeopathic cases often come to me thousands of feet up in the air as I am flying to some far away (usually tropical) destination.

My inspiration to the conclusion to my book, Blast Off!, came to me while walking on the beach with my husband.

I just had another brilliant business idea (can’t tell you yet!) come to me while getting a massage at a spa in Charlotte, NC.

What is the reasoning for these vacation ‘aha moments ? When you are at work, you are busy doing, responding, tasking, detailing, analyzing and communicating. If you are very focused in your activities, all of your senses are at play and being utilized to the max. When you are away from your daily business at hand, your body and mind will begin to relax and unwind. And once you have had a chance to de-compress, your thoughts are now free to let go, explore and create.

Have any of you had a brilliant idea or solved one of your most pressing conflicts while taking a shower? This is because you are feeling relaxed from the hot water, and in many cases, you are experiencing a rare several minutes of undisturbed quiet time.

They say necessity is the mother of invention and I say, “creativity is the goddess of re- invention.” Doing things the same way every day, year after year, is not going to yield you much positive change. If you are spinning your wheels, and in dire need of a recharge or inspiration burst in your life or business, you have my blessing to take a vacation, even if it is just for a few days.

Pushing yourself to birth new ideas is about is fruitful as trying hard to have a baby. It is through letting go and allowing that the fertility and ingenuity have room to be born.

So go to that cooking seminar you have been dreaming of, dance in the moonlight or head to where the flowers are blooming. Follow your passion and go have some fun! You deserve it. It may just be the most prosperous thing you do for yourself all year long.

________________________

I am often asked, “how do you do it, Allison? How do you create success in your life?” I had to really meditate on these questions when I began life and business coaching. Honestly, I had created a success system in my life through running 9 businesses, creating joy in my life, finding my soulmate and staying healthy and fit without much awareness of the steps or practices I was taking. They had become second nature, like an evolved rhythm that had caught it’s stride through time and experience. It’s kind of like driving a car. Once you master the basics and get some driving experience, you do not question where the gas peddle is, or how to find park on your stick shift. You just do it. (Parallel parking is another story!) But when I began teaching and mentoring, I couldn’t say, “I don’t know. I just do it.” So I spent a great deal of time dissecting my unconscious thoughts, behaviors, actions, wins and losses, (yes, losses are a valuable part of the journey) to create my signature step-by-step strategies which are now a big part of my one-on-one coaching practice, my new book, Blast Off! and my online success software program, Blastation.

To offer further support, I have decided (5 minutes ago) to write a series of articles and posts on The Secrets of My Success, Ali’s Tips on Entrepreneurship, Relationships, Motherhood and Living Adventurously! Oh, yes. It has been an adventure, and I would not have it any other way.

Ali’s Success Tip #1: Say Yes. Then, always, always ask for support.

We often learn through example. I was blessed in that my father was (and still is at 80 years of age) a great businessman. He owned the largest privately run women’s clothing chain in the Midwest. And as a young woman who loved fashion, this was a very cool thing. He opened businesses like you and I open jars of peanut butter. (The smooth kind, not nutty at all).

One of the best pieces of advice he ever gave me in business was this. Say “yes” first, then figure out how to make it happen. So I did. In my early 20’s, I opened my 2nd business, a full service advertising and public relations firm. One thing I should mention, I had no experience in advertising or public relations. I’m talking, “zero.”

My first real client was MCI. I met a young woman at a party in Atlanta. She mentioned she was assigned to order some thank you cards for her department at MCI and I impulsively said, “ I can do that for you.” (I honestly had no clue.) I took the $5000 order, walked into some small printing shop and said, “ I just got this job to produce thank you cards for MCI. I have no idea how to make them. Would you help me?” The southern gentleman behind the counter’s jaw dropped as he said, “How did you get this job, Ma’am? I spent the next 3 weeks hanging out at the printer. They walked me through all the steps of typography, paper, inks, proofs, (this is pre-internet) and I even learned some printing lingo. The skills I learned there have served me and my clients a thousand times over. All because I asked for support.

When my client, the president of Charlotte Russe clothing chain asked me if I knew how to buy radio and eventually television, what do you think I said? After saying ABSOLUTELY, I walked out of his office feeling out of my mind excited. And then when reality hit, and I realized I had no idea what to do next, I spent the next several weeks spending time at the radio and television stations, receiving media buying 101. All because I asked for guidance. Was I nervous? Sure I was. Yet once I learned, my fear dissolved.

Asking for support has been a huge secret of my success. I continued this practice over my 25 years in business. (Yes, I started at age 12.) When I began practicing homeopathy, even after I completed my education, I hired mentors. These were people that paved the trail before me. I did not want to practice good homeopathy. I wanted to practice great homeopathy. You see, mentors and coaches save you headaches, heartaches, lots of money and time. When I decided to sell the homeopathic college I had built to have more time for my clients, I hired a mentor to support me through the process. When I began to write my book, I hired a writing coach. When I began doing motivational speeches, I hired a speaking coach. When I wanted to invent my Blastation software, I hired a software expert. When I wanted to launch my book, I asked a best selling author to teach me her successful strategy.

Do you see a pattern here? I am not afraid to admit that I don’t know something, and I see the million dollar value in asking for support from someone who does. The knowledge I have gained from these amazing people launched me on a much more direct and fruitful path toward the attainment of my goals. And I always made my investment back hundreds of times over. Had I tried to figure it out on my own, I may have eventually reached my goals, but there would have been much more struggle and frustration. And I would not be living the wonderful life I am today. In my coaching practice, people often confide in me that they feel it is a weakness to ask for help. They have it all wrong. The truth is, it takes courage.

I would love to hear from you. Your comments, questions and experiences are encouraged.

I met my soulmate, Mike, when I was forty-two. We were married one year later.

After twenty years of good guys, bad choices (meaning nice guys, but we were so NOT a match), I finally figured out how to manifest the relationship of my dreams.

Manifest? Yes, believe it or not. When I finally uncovered the formula to call him in, there he was. And I have many girlfriends who were witness to the magic. When I began seriously thinking about manifesting this relationship, my life was radiant on almost every level. I had a beautiful daughter, a very inspiring dream career, lots of amazing friends, fun and adventurous hobbies and a growing spiritual connection. My love life, on the other hand, had its share of ups and downs to say the least. It was by far my weakest link.

From the moment I became very clear about who I was as a person, and finally understood what the best fit for my potential life partner would be, the shift started to happen. Then when I combined all of this new awareness with an absolute unwillingness to settle anymore, everything began to change.

I professed to my closest girlfriends that I would meet Mr. Right on August 12, 2005. (And they just nodded knowing not to dampen my enthusiasm.) Mike decided to spare me the torture any longer and appeared in my life 8 days early on August 4th. Funny thing is that we had lived around the corner from one another for 10 years, shopped in the same grocery store, Starbucks and never once met, until I was finally ready. You know the saying, “timing is everything.” In my case, timing and some simple steps that I began practicing daily until he appeared. (Until that day, Valentines Day was a time that I could not leave town fast enough.)

I am living proof that true love and soulmates do exist. From the time I finally got that message loud and clear, the path to a soulful relationship became easy. Prior to meeting Mike, I had chosen relationships that were fraught with frustration and discord, because I didn’t know any other way. But once my eyes were open, and I realized I was the one choosing all these round peg, square hole situations, I finally got that I also had the power to choose very differently. And so I did.

Since manifesting the right person, it has been effortless, because we both want the same kind of love and relationship. No more coercing, convincing, or longing. Thank you, God! This method does require that you don’t absorb any negative talk that says relationships are impossible and good partners are hard to find. If you do, that will most likely become your belief system and ultimately your truth.

In my new best selling book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality, I lay out the step-by-step plan to find your soulmate. Trust me. If I can do it, so can you. And if you are already married or in a relationship, the same steps apply to shift from feeling frustrated or empty, to flowing in-sync with one another again.

Call me sentimental. Call me what you will. I believe we all have a capacity to love and be loved.

Happy almost Valentines Day to you all!

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULD NOT FAIL?

Would you venture out on a new career or start a new business?

Would you stop choosing unhealthy relationships?

Would you stop settling in life because you finally realize you deserve better?

Would you face the issues in your relationship and do what it takes to make it the best ever?

Would you re-kindle that childhood dream and finally make it a reality?

Would you finally figure out what your passion is and bring it into your everyday life?

Would you challenge yourself to increase your finances to a whole new level?

Would you walk away from all the drama in your life?

Would you choose happiness over worry, anger and grief?

THE HARM IS IN YOUR HEAD

Believe it or not, your life could completely transform if you began to walk through the fear and make completely new and healthy choices The only harm upon you are the thoughts of fear swimming in your head like a whirlpool. The mental torture that grips you is the most painful reality of all.

Yes. Your biggest fears are merely a figment of your delusional reality!

You have either adopted someone else’s fear, watched it on television, or you were raised in a home that shared the fear freely. If each anticipated obstacle
were faced pragmatically, like a child’s first steps, you would find ease even in the falls because they are simply part of the learning curve! “Ok, that hurt my bottom a bit, but I can get up and take another step!” Living in self- judgment, fear of criticism and fear of failure is a state of imprisonment that ais holding you back from embracing life to the fullest. As an adult, you have the choice whether you want to continue living this way. You have the power and freedom to choose to live by doing rather than fearing. The Reward: A brand new life!

DID YOU INHERIT ANY OF THESE BELIEFS?

The world is a scary place. Better safe than sorry. Money does not grow on trees. Do not look at life through rose colored glasses. I will not amount to anything. True love only exists in fairy tales. Opportunities only come to the wealthy. I am not good enough. I am not smart enough. I am not beautiful enough. I am not thin enough. I am not successful enough. I am lazy. I am not capable. I cannot do it on my own. I cannot depend on anyone. It is never good enough. It has to be perfect. You might end up on the street. (one of my family’s favorites). Life is hard.

Any of those sound familiar? What would life be like if you these thoughts were not part of your brain chemistry. How different your life would be if your thoughts were the complete opposite….

The world is safe and full of beautiful and exciting possibilities.

Money is always available to me and my bank account is growing every day.

I enjoy challenging myself because I know that I can achieve whatever I set my mind to.

Opportunities are falling into my lap on a daily basis.

I am successful at all of my endeavors.

True love is mine for the taking because I deserve it.

I am dynamic.

Perfection is a waste of time and energy.

I am a winner in every realm of my life.

My life is fun and full of new adventures!

My Personal Decision

When I made the decision to sell my advertising agency and go back to school to become a homeopathic physician, I received nothing but shock, disappointment, and warning of tremendous failure from family and certain friends. How could you leave a thriving and seemingly successful career? My current road was teaching me that success does not always equate with fulfillment. How much was I willing to continue losing parts of my soul to satisfy others expectations of me? On the verge of a physically and emotionally stressed breakdown, I asked myself how much longer was I willing to allow fear to run my life? Making the decision to change my path was the most challenging part. The doing was simple because I was back in the flow of the real me.

Sitting at lunch with a friend, I talked about my dreams and plans to make a career change. Instead of encouragement and shared enthusiasm, she responded, “you are making a big mistake, Allison. Do you really think anyone is going to want to pay to come see you? You are not going to make a living at that?” Looking back, I realized that she was talking from her own fear of change. However, at the time, I instinctively knew that I needed to completely separate myself from any conflicting beliefs if I was going to be successful at achieving my goals. I walked away from that meeting saying to myself with conviction, “I will become a highly skilled homeopath and a successful one at that! And that is exactly what I did.”

BLAST OFF ACTION:

Each day, make one small step toward your true choice living. Whether that is envisioning your dream, making a call you have been putting off, researching a nagging desire, wearing a brighter color, singing, beginning your search, or simply speaking the truth. Write down one goal each night before bed to do the next day. Do this each night for one month. You will be amazed how these small steps (I call them Mini Feats) add up to big changes. Look back at Day One in thirty days and see how far you have journeyed on your new path.

This insight, action plan and the tools to launch your personal and professional rocket can be found in my new #1 Best Selling Book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality. (Feels SO good to say best selling. Wahoo!)

When your real nature speaks at the core of your belly, gather your courage and answer the calling. Walk through the fear and you will be guided to a bigger and brighter destination than you could have ever imagined.” Allison Maslan

Are there any areas in your life that you are limiting yourself? Be totally honest. In your career, is there something you would just LOVE to be doing, but have no idea how to make it happen? Or maybe you feel intimidated to even try? What if you knew that your new venture or challenge would be a sure thing. You would go for it. Wouldn’t you?

In your relationship, have you settled in your choices because you’re afraid you might not find anyone better? Do you stay in your current relationship because of fear?

There are 3 key barriers that tend to hold people back from venturing out into the wild blue yonder.

Fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of being judged, fear of the unknown, fear of loss of security, fear of not enjoying your choices…I could go on.

Disconnection from Passion. You know that feeling. The one that fills you up with bubbles of excitement and satisfaction. Often hard to get there when you have felt stuck, held back, trapped for some time.

Lack of direction. You may not be afraid. You may know exactly what you want to do. But you have no idea how to make it happen. This is not an uncommon scenario.

Can you relate? I want to hear from you….tell me your stories.

What if you had a book that helped you solve the mystery to all three barriers? I know where you would be right now.
