We are coming to the close of 2009. At this time of year I always find it beneficial to take time and review the soon to be past year in it’s entirety. Make some space for yourself before January 1st. Then meditate on the following questions. I recommend that you journal on your answers to gain further insight on these experiences.

What are the lesson’s you have learned in 2009?

What goals did you achieve? (small and large)

What new connections did you make?

What moments stand out as your most memorable?

What were your silver linings in the difficult times?

What were your best surprises of 2009?

You might be amazed to find how much progress you have made this year. Time passes so quickly so it is important that we embrace our important and touching moments, accomplishments, and lessons. Even if they may not have been the best of times, each and every moment, good and bad, add up to create the whole of your journey on this earth.

Thanks for joining me for my countdown. Only 120 days left as I share my personal journey to making my biggest dream come true. Somehow when I was younger, 120 days would seem like an eternity. Now it seems like just a few blinks and January 19th will be here.

The whole concept of time boggles my mind. There never seems to be enough of it and yet, when I am working out with my trainer, Marcus, every seconds feels like a decade! (He was extra brutal today.)

How I came to writing my book had many twists and turns. All roads have led to a wonderful place, but in a few of instances, the path was windier and bumpier than I had anticipated. I am sure you have had that experience. You are gritting your teeth with disappointment one moment and then months later you look back and think, “Oh, yeah. Now I get it. Thank God that didn’t work out. This is so much better!” This is the life stuff you just can’t make up and you cannot plan. There always seems to be a better, bigger plan, but you just can’t see it at the time.

Four years ago, I was approached from a major publisher to write a book about how to build a business from a spiritual perspective. After a year of proposals, various chapters, rewrite after rewrite, the book they finally approved was NOT me at all. It was not my voice, my message, and I just could not bring myself to put my name on it. Since my dream had always been to publish a book, the idea of pulling out of the deal nauseated and saddened me greatly. I felt like I was throwing away an amazing opportunity, but I just could not put my name on a book that I did not respect. My passion for this manuscript was not there and I could not manufacture the feeling. (I tried, believe me. Kind of like the relationship that looks good on paper, but ya’ just don’t feel it!) So I compiled all of my stacks of writing into a box and regretfully closed the door….

Stay tuned for what happens next in the journey of making my biggest dream come true!

Feel free to join in on the discussion…

Does your business have soul? When your business is an expression of you at the deepest level, combined with passion and meaning that is of value to you, it has a greater changes of thriving and, so do you!

What does it mean to have a business with soul? Does it mean it has a good beat, its spiritually based, or a sturdy pair of shoes? No, not really. The soul, I believe, is the essence of who we are. Our soul is like our life signature, our energy imprint. So what does it mean to have a business with soul? It means to create a business that comes from the core of who you are. When your business is the external expression of your voice and your passion, it truly resonates with your soul. This also means that whatever your business represents, highlights, sells, and creates should fit who you are as an individual and your personal mission. When your business has soul by combining passion and meaning, it is more likely to result in success and longevity. When your business comes from your heart and soul, it has more chance to thrive during the highs and the lows that any entrepreneur might face. Blast Off Coaching has soul. Homeopathic Wellness has soul. I am passionate about them both. They both have deep meaning to me. When you spend time on efforts that really matter to you, it’s much more probable that you’ll make the commitment that’s necessary to build a lasting entity. This love of your work is the glue that will keep you cherishing your wins and picking yourself up after your losses as you progress on your path toward success. Building a business that has soul is also a great deal more fun than one that is only about the money. Launch a business with soul, stick with it and the business and you cannot help but thrive. Learn more about creating a soul business from the release of my upcoming book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan To Launch Your Dreams Into Reality on January 19th 2010.

Stop for a moment and ask yourself these three powerful questions.

★At this very moment, are you who you want to be?

★★Is your daily life full of things you want to do?

★★Are you attaining the goals and fulfillment that you want to have?

If you can answer “Yes” to each question, congratulations! You have either inherited or designed a life process that is working for you. In your case, the Blast Off! principles will only enhance your already satisfying journey. On the other hand, if you’ve answered “No” to any or all of these queries, let me ask you one more very important question…

Do you want to be at the same place you are now, with the same frustration, the same struggles, and the same complaints, one year from now or even ten years from now?

If the thought of being at this same juncture of your path, personally, professionally, emotionally and spiritually, ten years from now does not light a raging fire underneath your feet for moving toward transformation, then your fear of changing must be greater than your desire for it. If this is your story but you’re still game, the Blast Off! Program can help you push past your fear and enter a more exciting state. And if your fire has been ignited, let’s work together to infuse your life with the magic, joy, love and prosperity that you so deserve.

Fifteen years ago, I asked myself that same question, “How would I feel about being in the same place ten years from now?”

Honestly, the thought of remaining stuck and frustrated with no movement forward on my life path made me nauseous. I had spent so much time fighting for what I wanted in relationships and in my career that I didn’t know what else could be done. All I knew for sure was that the combination of a passionless relationship and a career without meaning was absolutely killing me. Let me clarify … it wasn’t actually the relationship or my career that was killing me when I needed to change. It was the negative, tainted energy I owned around those two areas of my life, and the manner in which I chose to expend my energy toward them. The fact is that I was completely responsible for creating my own misery. No one else. I made the choice to be in that relationship.I chose the career. And I also chose to allow them both to affect me in a negative way. Hearing myself complain and wallow in my own anger, sadness and stuckness was draining and, in the end, only bred more anger, sadness and stuckness.

The way I saw it, I had two choices:

1. Either I needed to accept my circumstances while making the best of them (which was not an option)…

2. Or I had to make a change (which is what my soul was crying out for me to do).

Watch this short video and learn:

Join me over the next several months and I will share with you how I turned my life from the bottomless pit to flying high. (Literally. Besides becoming a successful entrepreneur, I became a trapeze artist!) I will guide you down your own path Blast Off Path of Passion and Meaning. Please share with me your insights and experiences once you begin to take action on your own Blast Off Path.

Think about how fear has played a role in your life and directly

affected your choices regarding your relationships,

careers, financial state, hobbies and values. What are you living now as a

result of these negative beliefs?

Here are some examples:

Career: I am so worried about financial security that I am not really

pursuing my dream career. I am not mentally stimulated in my job. In

fact, I am so bored at work.

Relationship: I have always settled for partners who I knew would not

abandon me, even though I wasn’t really attracted to them. Then I lose

interest and leave.

Now it’s your turn. Write two to three sentences about where you are now in the

following areas of your life based on any fearful choices you have made or limiting

beliefs you hold: (1) career, (2) relationship, (3) financial, (4) personal fulfillment,

(5) adventure and (6) spiritual.

When you really think about it, are you surprised to see how much your fears have

played a role in your major life choices? Mind-boggling, isn’t it?

I will leave you with this thought. Any choice that you make out of fear will most

likely NOT leave you with a fulfilling or rewarding result.

Please feel free to add your thoughts or comments to this post.

When women come to see me for life and career coaching or homeopathy, I often find myself saying, “ You really do deserve to be happy.” With this statement I often receive a perplexed expression as their reply. Such a simple and somewhat obvious statement, but surprisingly for many women, it rings distant from their reality.

Their confused stare translates to, “Really? But how can this be? How could that actually happen? True happiness seems so far from my life that I honestly have no idea how to get there.”

I don’t mean that all women are walking around miserable. Far from that. However, deserving to be happy can have many connotations. It can mean the opportunity to have all they desire in life, to reach their dreams or to be completely fulfilled and content right where they are.

Many women tell me they remember having dreams and longings at some point in their lives, but over time, have lost touch with these aspirations. At this junction, these desires seem more like fantasies. Many women have expressed to me that they feel so trapped within their circumstances that happiness has meant settling, or making the best of what they really do not want.

Why is this so? And how did this happen? Is it a message we have unconsciously inherited from our mothers that says, “This is the best you’ll get or the best you can do, so deal with it”? Is it ideology from Cinderella and Superwoman gone astray? Or has it been the many disappointments in love, a dead-end quest for a dream career or never making it past surviving on a month-to-month income while juggling the responsibilities of home, work and family? Or maybe one has a great job, but it leaves no time for anything but the job? And the push for all of this has left many women feeling overwhelmed, lost and just plain tired.

Somewhere in the search, without their awareness, complacency has snuck in and taken hold. One day, they find themselves whispering under their breath that it is easier to accept what is in front of them, rather than continue the seemingly arduous journey toward the dream. Many have found a way to manage within the boundaries of this acceptance and even find a sense of safety and security in its clutches.

This is the definition of settling, and many of us have taken this road at one time or another. We settle in unhealthy relationships with partners that we know are not our true match. We settle in the work that we are either over qualified for, or we allow fear to hold us back from having the gratifying dream career we always wanted.

That would all be fine, I suppose. Except these same women tell me that there is this deep inkling inside, nothing they can really get a handle on, but a feeling that there has got to be more than this. It is also this inkling that has kept them feeling frustrated along with intermittent moments of yearning for fulfillment after periods of giving up on it altogether.

The main culprit in what I call the Settling Syndrome, is “fear” in one form or another. You may relate to some of these scenarios:

· Fear that this is the best that there is, so I better hang onto what I have.

· Fear that I may fail, so why should I try.

· Fear that I cannot do it perfectly, so therefore I am not capable.

· Fear of what others may think of me for leaving my safe and secure circumstance for a silly risk or pipe dream.

The unwillingness to face any of these fears is often what keeps women in situations that do not move them to their potential. This leaves them feeling bored, resentful, and stuck rather than experiencing a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment and full heartedness.

The reality is that the fear will lessen tremendously after one begins to make the necessary changes to remove themselves from their current unfulfilling circumstance. The steps it takes to initiate the new direction are the hardest. They may require that you dig deep for some courage. However, once you initiate the steps toward your new path, the fear will begin to diminish and you will wonder what you were so afraid of after all. It is by taking action that this fear will begin to subside. Your trepidation will not diminish by choosing to stay stuck, while trying to think your way out of it. The combination of courageous thought and forward action are the most powerful duo that can open the doors to all kinds of wonderful new possibilities.

You don’t have to jump off a bridge and make major changes in your life all at once. That would be too daunting to most. I suggest taking baby steps, which I call Mini-Feats™, and instead, build a bridge to your new life. Just three small action steps each day and, before you know it, you will have accomplished miles of positive movement.

The other culprit in the Settling Syndrome is the absence of direction toward a new path.

It is hard to know what better path to take next when you do not know what your options are. Or you may know the options, but have no idea how to get there. You may even feel that you have knocked on every door possible and have not found a good fit, or one that would even open. Then, of course, that familiar frustration and self-doubt start to creep in and, once again, you quit.

Unless you have had positive guidance from a family member, a coach, mentor, teacher or friend that can show you possibilities outside of your own personal experience, how would you know that there are wonderful possibilities within reach? If you have only been influenced by people that have had unhealthy or mediocre relationships, or are unsatisfied with their careers, what would be the inspiration for you to move beyond settling? How would you even know what direction to take or how to even get started? This has nothing to do with intelligence or capability. It is what all of us needed as children; and at times in adulthood. Someone to help show us the way.

To have a direction means that you know where you are headed. If you have not had someone to help guide you in some way, it may be hard to see that there are many possibilities for uplifting your life situation. You may have always thought, “Happy, prosperous and stimulating lives are for other people, not me.” I am here to tell you, this is not the truth.

If this scenario has been your state of affairs, I suggest you reach out to a mentor, or support system that is not emotionally involved in your situation. One that has experience and can be an impartial coach to open some windows to new options, and then help steer you in the right direction in any aspect of your life. By realizing there are options, you will begin to feel hopeful. And hope will give you a sense of freedom. And ahhhhhhhh…….freedom feels so good.

And remember, don’t ever settle or give up on yourself in any area of your life, because you do deserve to be happy.

As a small business owner and consultant in her own field, she respects what it took for me to create eight successful businesses since I was 23, including an ad agency, a homeopathic college, and a scuba diving shop.l

“Allison,” Stephanie said to me, “You knows firsthand how to turn passion into profits, and how to help people to discover their life’s purpose. My listeners would benefit from your advice about keeping going even in a down economy. The only thing stopping many people seems to be fear.”
