Only 94 Days to Making My Dream Come True
Well I surpassed the 100 day mark. That may still seem like a long time away for you. 100 days is nothing when you have worked years to attain a dream. When you see the finish line in sight, it makes everything feel so real. In my first entry on my dream countdown blog, I talked about how my first book deal did not work out the way I had hoped. After a year of back and forth with the publishing company’s creative dept, I was asked to write a book that just did not fit my vision. I could not put my name on a book that was not my voice. So I walked away from a huge dream feeling pretty bummed out!
Time passed. Life got busy. My homeopathy and coaching practices were thriving, met my soulmate, got married, sent my daughter to college….Stuff that kind of needed my attention! So looking back, I realize it all happened as it should have.
Then the day my daughter left for college, I cried for about 10 minutes. (Okay, 20) and then I asked myself, “What next?” There was silence around this house now after years of commotion, except for the three exuberant puppies at my feet. So what was I going to do with that. In that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. It was finally time to write my book. But this time, in my true voice. After 13 years of private practice, running 9 businesses and raising a daughter as a single mom, (a few marriages tossed in there) I felt I had a few things to say. Words to laugh by, learn by, and hopefully feel inspired by.
So that is what I did. I turned on my computer, stared at the blank Word doc., picked up my hands and started typing…
At this very moment, are you who you want to be?
Is your daily life full of things you want to do?
Are you attaining the goals and fulfillment that you want to have?

Fifteen years ago, I asked myself that same question, “How would I feel about being in the same place ten years from now?” Honestly, the thought of remaining stuck and frustrated with no movement forward on my life path made me nauseous. I had spent so much time fighting for what I wanted in relationships and in my career that I didn’t know what else could be done. All I knew for sure was that the combination of a passionless relationship and a career without meaning was absolutely killing me.
